The state of Minnesota in the United States of America has marked October 6 as Wizkid Day.
The festivities began four years ago when the governor proclaimed October 6th as Wizkid Day in the City.
The 6th of October has been designated as Wizkid Day by Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton.
The Governor noted that the award is in appreciation of Wizkid’s musical accomplishments and his role as a cultural influencer in the sealed and stamped paper announcing the day.
Wizkid received the recognition after becoming the first African performer to sell out Minneapolis’ Skyway Theatre in 2019.
Since being acknowledged, Wizkid has gone on to accomplish numerous milestones, including topping the Billboard Hot 100, selling out the 02 Arena three nights in a row, earning a Grammy, and being awarded an RIAA platinum plaque.
