Two brothers, Segun, 39 and Elijah Ogundeji,20, are to sweep the premises of Magistrates’ Court in Ota, Ogun for three months for impersonating military personnel.
Magistrate A.O. Adeyemi gave the order in a ruling against the duo on Wednesday when they appeared before him.
The police charged the convicts, whose addresses were not provided, with impersonation and conspiracy.
Adeyemi said the punishment was without an option of fine.
The prosecutor Insp E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the convicts committed the offence on Sept. 2 at about 5.30 p.m. at Ijako Church area, Ota.
He said the convicts impersonated military personnel.
The prosecutor said the offence contravenes the provisions of sections 384 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
They pleaded guilty to the offence and they were jailed accordingly. (NAN)
