President Muhammadu Buhari will on Friday present the N19.76 trillion 2023 budget to the joint session of the National Assembly.
The president revealed this in a letter addressed to Senate President Ahmad Lawan and read at the commencement of plenary on Tuesday.
He said the budget presentation will take place at 10:00 am at the temporary chamber of the House of Representatives.
Mr Lawan said arrangements had been made to accommodate all members of the National Assembly and the president’s entourage.
The budget features a deficit of N11.3 trillion, according to the 2023-25 Medium Term Expenditure Framework presented by the Finance Minister Zainab Ahmed to the House of Representatives Finance Committee recently.
She said the total projected revenue of N8.46 trillion would be outstripped by borrowings, especially if the petrol subsidy is sustained beyond the June 2023 planned exit date to July-December.
