Renowned Nigerian music label, Mavin Records, has unveiled 6 new talents a rare but welcome action that once more highlights the variety of fresh talent existing in the African music industry.
Mavin Records announced Friday, the signing of Alexander Uwaifo (Andre Vibes), Prince Omoferi (Mbryo), Oluwadamilare Aderibigbe (Milar), King Agene David (Prestige), Jackson Okpeku (JVXN), and Chinomso Ohajianya in a ground-breaking move to consolidate these crucial components of the African music ecosystem (Sevn).
Milar and Mbryo are legitimate songwriters with a resume that is already impressive. The duo, who have already written songs like “Bloody Samaritan,” “Overdose,” “Ijo (Labalaba),” and “Feeling,” represent a new generation of brilliant lyricists and musicians whose place in the industry is just as significant as anyone else’s. The long-term goals of 18-year-old Milar include using music to change lives and expanding into numerous other sectors of the music creative economy. Mbryo has played the game for a while. He has already collaborated with some of the scene’s biggest performers, and now he wants to use his talent to inspire and record ordinary lives.
Sound enthusiasts Andre Vibez, Prestige, Jvxn, and Sevn. One of the most active producers of Afrobeats is Andre Vibez. The producer, who is aiming for legacy, is behind the big hits “Feeling” by Ladipoe in 2021, “Calm Down” by Rema, and most recently, “Rush” by Ayra Starr.
Artists like Dr. Sid, Di’Ja, Crayon, and the recent Mavin signee, Bayanni have collaborated with Prestige. As they collaborate with some of the top up-and-coming artists in the business and work with Don Jazzy, the renowned Afrobeats producer and Mavin Records founder, Jvxn and Sevn are eager to make their mark on the scene.
