The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday handed over the affairs of the opposition to the minority leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, who last week had the suspension on him and six others lifted by the party.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP met with Elumelu and other members of the PDP caucus in the lower chamber and urged them to work for the party.
National chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, who presided over the meeting, told the lawmakers to end the protracted minority leadership crisis in the House.
“The essence of this meeting is to reiterate the lifting of the suspension. Nigeria is in dire straits now and it needs a viable opposition in the House of Representatives,” Secondus said.
