A former Secretary to the Katsina State Government, Malam Abidu Yazid Rafindadi is dead.
The late Rafindadi who was Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, died in Abuja on Thursday
Malam Rafindadi was appointed chairman of the Governing Board and Pro-Chancellor of the University in 2021.
Meanwhile, the University of Ilorin has condoled with the family, the Katsina Emirate, the Katsina State Government and the entire people of Katsina State over the passage of its Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, Malam Abidu Yazid Rafindadi.
In a statement issued in Ilorin on Thursday by the university’s Director, Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, the institution prayed to God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“We pray to God for the repose of his soul and also pray to God to grant him eternal rest. May God forgive his shortcomings and admit him into Aljannah Firdaous,” the statement said.
The statement described the late Mallam Yazid an outstanding civil servant and a former Secretary to the Katsina State Government.
The university recalled the last official assignments of the late Pro-Chancellor when he announced a fortnight ago (Thursday, September 8, 2022), the appointment of Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole (SAN), as the university’s new vice chancellor, following the conclusion of a thorough selection process.
