The Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, has urged women to elect credible leaders in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Mrs Balarabe gave the charge at the inauguration of Local Government Coordinators of the All Progressives Congress Women Living with Disabilities Forum in Manchok, Kaura Local Government Area of the state.
Balarabe was represented by Dr Christiana Ayakpat, Head of Human Resource Department of the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board.
She advised the women not to see their condition as an impediment to making the right choice of leaders.
She said that the Malam Nasir El-Rufai led administration recognises the potential in women, hence their appointment to key positions in the state.
The deputy governor called on the women to vote for the APC at all levels to consolidate on the gains recorded in the last seven years.
Earlier in her address, the convener of the forum, Lois Auta, said the forum was born out of the need to get women living with disabilities involved in active politics.
Auta commended the APC led government for placing a premium on women who were hitherto relegated to the background in the scheme of things.
She said it was time for the women to reciprocate the gesture by voting massively for APC at all levels of governance in the country.
