A mud house has collapsed killing one person in the early morning of Saturday in Birniwa local government area of Jigawa state.
The police spokesperson of the state command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, revealed the incident happened around 5:30am killing one person on the spot.
Adam said some others who were unconscious were rushed to the Birniwa General Hospital where they were thought to have died.
The police later confirmed that the six other persons who were thought to have died were only unconscious and are now receiving treatment.
In another accident, ten persons have been rescued from a canoe capsize in Kafin Hausa local government area of the state.
The canoe reportedly capsized between Tage and Tafa villages of the local government.
boat capsizing have been on the rise in the state in the last weeks with as many as five cases reported which has left at least 19 people dead.
