A 28-year-old man, Abdullahi Umar, had been remanded in a correction centre for allegedly urinating on a grave and cyberstalking.
A Sharia Court in Kano presided by Malam Nura Yusuf Ahmad adjourned until Sept.16 for hearing.
The defendant, who lives in Sharada Quarters Kano, is charged with five counts of criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, public nuisance, inciting disturbance and cyber-stalking.
The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr Aliyu Abideen, told the court that a good Samaritan reported the matter at the Sharada Police Division Kano on Aug.13.
Abideen alleged that on Aug.9, at about 3:30 p.m the defendant and one Mummunai, now at large, trespassed into Maidille Village Cemetery.
“They went straight to the grave of the mother of one Abubakar Mai-Abinduniya, because they had a little misunderstanding, urinated on her grave and video taped the act.
He also said that the defendant later posted the recorded video on social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook and YouTube which generated condemnation from the public.
The offence, the prosecution said, defendant contravened the provisions of sections 120, 212,341,275 and 404 of Kano State Shari’a Law.
