The driver of Adamawa United Football Club was abducted along Benin-Ore expressway on Friday when gunmen attacked the bus conveying the players and officials to the Nigerian Professional Football League in Lagos.
Reports said the vehicle conveying the team was attacked at about 11:45pm.
The gunmen dispossessed both players and officials of their belongings including phones and match allowances.
The team was on its way for the week’s 11 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) fixture against MFM Fc in Lagos.
It was gathered that the driver of the team driver was abducted in the process.
The Yola-based club is the third NPFL team that have witnessed trouble on their way to honour match within one week.
First, it was Wikki Tourist of Bauchi that escaped death after their travelling bus burnt to ashes.
Day after, Kano Pillars bus caught fire but was later put under control.
