Dr Umar Suleiman has been appointed as the rector of Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna.
He was the acting rector of the federal institution.
The appointment, which was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari, takes effect from 27 June, 2022.
This was disclosed in a statement by the polytechnic’s Deputy Registrar, Information and Protocol, Samuel Y. Obochi, on Tuesday.
Dr Suleiman hails from Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The new rector holds a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) in Mathematics Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He is a member of the Mathematics Association of Nigeria (MAN).
Dr Suleiman was Head of Department, Mathematics and Statistics; Director, Academic Planning; and Deputy Rector Administration in the polytechnic.
