Gunmen have invaded Government Science College, Kagara in Niger State, and abducted students and staff.
This is coming less than 48 hours after a bus load of people, comprising mostly women and children traveling inside a state public transport were abducted in broad day light in the state.
Witnesses said the bandits, dressed in military camouflage, overpowered the school security, stormed the staff quarters before attacking the hostels, witnesses said.
The attack took place between 2-3 am of Wednesday.
No security or Niger state official speak on the incident yet.
Niger has recently become the hub of banditry in the north.
Reports said the bandits converged the students and teachers and other staff in a particular place inside the school, before herding them away.
The actual number of students abducted is not certain yet as the school is conducting a headcount.
The boarding school has a population of over 1000 students.
A student was reportedly shot dead when she attempted to run away from her captives.
Abduction of school children has been the signature of Boko Haram as they did in Chibok and Dapchi, but recently bandits terrorizing the northwest and north central zones have joined the league with the abduction of school boys in Kankara, Katsina state.
