Ideally, APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu should be happy that PDP chieftain and former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose fell out with his party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, over the latter’s failure to nominate Fayose’s friend Governor Nyesom Wike as his running mate.
Fayose said on Wednesday that he is not supporting Atiku anymore because “power must return to the South.”
Must? This matter is no longer in the hands of party bosses who could be cajoled, but in the hands of all registered voters, who are a prickly lot.
Using the word MUST could alienate many people. With a campaigner like Fayose, Tinubu may not need any saboteurs.
