Kannyhood actress Hadiza Gabon on Tuesday denied knowing Mr Bala Musa, her alleged suitor who claimed she promised to marry him after spending N396,000 on her.
Ms Gabon disclosed this after appearing before a Sharia Court, Magajin Gari Kaduna, presided by Khadi Malam Rilwanu Kyaudai.
She told the court that she never knew the man in question and had no relationship with him whatsoever.
The 48-year-old civil servant, last week, told the court that Ms Gabon promised to marry him and that they had been in a relationship, saying he had so far spent N396,000 on her.
However, Ms Gabon dismissed this through her lawyer, Barrister Mubarak Sani Jibril, in the court premises.
Barrister Jibril said, “After hearing his allegations, she actually gave her own response which of course according to her, she has never met him, she never knew what happened. He met her on Facebook purportedly owned by her, so, we don’t know anything about that; we have no business with that, we have heard him, we will allow the court to decide,” Mubarak said.
Mr Musa’s lawyer, Barrister N. Murtala, said the supposed lover, who happened to be his client, met Gabon on Facebook and from there they became friends, adding that she promised to marry him and he started spending money on her.
Mr Musa said, “They met on Facebook, from there they became friends and the lady promised to marry him and he started spending money on her. She denied knowing him, but we have informed the court that we are going to bring witnesses on that,” he said.
He explained further that they did not oppose her bail because the offence is bailable.
The case has been adjourned to June 28 after granting Ms Gabon bail.
