Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, says the electorates in the state would only cast their votes for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) during the next general elections.
Speaking during the inauguration of five commissioners and aides in Abakaliki, Umahi said there is nothing like Igbo agenda, noting that henceforth what matters to him is an Ebonyi agenda.
The governor had recently accused the South East delegates to the APC presidential primary of trading their votes amid clamour for an Igbo presidency.
“This shows that even if we have equal number of local government areas and delegates such as other zones, we would still trade our votes.
“We are currently regarded as people who can sell anything but they should remember that anyone who betrays his brother will lose the trust of those who gained from the betrayal”, he had said.
Umahi said he was done supporting the Igbo agenda after what he referred to as the “show of same” during the APC special convention in Abuja.
He reechoed his stand in Abakalliki against the growing clamour for the people of the South East to support the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter .
Obi defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) few days to the party’s primary for the Labour Party.
However, Umahi told eligible voters in the state not to vote for the Labour Party in the forthcoming general election.
He said, “We will not vote for Labour Party. We will only vote for APC. Our votes are for APC and not for Labour Party. Our agenda is Ebonyi agenda.
“We will vote for our presidential candidate in the person of Tinubu. We must strive to liberate Ebonyi State; Ebionyi is our agenda now.”
