All Progressives Congress (APC)’s standard bearer on Wednesday vowed that the party will roar over the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to victory in the forthcoming general elections.
In his acceptance speech after he emerged victorious during the party’s presidential primary which was held in Eagle Square, Abuja, Tinubu said APC will “devour its enemies” and” “roared to power” in 2023.
He said the PDP has no business struggling to return to power after the misery it caused the country for 16 years it superintended over it.
“We’re nation builders not destroyers. So the APC has brought the country on track and will navigate it to the promised land,” he said.
He said PDP is a termite which eats anything in its wake.
The former Lagos State governor, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for putting in place a credible process leading to the conduct of a peaceful, free and fair presidential primary.
He also commended the president for providing the level playing ground that enabled him (Tinubu) emerged.
“I didn’t expect to win but I did because of the support of our president,” he said.
Tinubu touts Lawan
The presidential candidate said he was upset with Lawan for contesting against him; he however, thanked him for his support in the past.
He also commended Lawan for helping in the acceleration of development across the country through quick passages of important legislations at the National Assembly.
While thanking the aspirants who stepped down for his emergence, he however, commended the losers for their doggedness during the exercise.
“I hold no grudges”, he told those who worked against his emergence, while extending an olive branch to other aspirants.
