Many worshippers were feared killed on Sunday in an explosion that rocked a Catholic Church in Ondo state.
The affected church has been identified as St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in Owo town, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State capital.
The blasts occurred on the church premises while the mass was going on.
Witnesses said the explosion caused pandemonium in the area as residents in the neighborhood of the church ran for safety.
Spokesperson of the Ondo police command, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, said the police was yet to ascertain the cause the incident.
Mrs Odunlami said, “The Commissioner of Police is on his way to the scene to ascertain the cause of the incident. We have been hearing some many things about it but I will get back to you.”
