As the much anticipated national convention of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] gets set to kick off in Abuja on Saturday, the best bets are on Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki to clinch the presidential ticket.
This medical doctor, banker, entrepreneur, politician, former state governor, legislator and former Senate President is making his third run for the presidency and this time, he is poised to pull the rabbit out of the hat, politically speaking.
He pulled a rabbit out of the gubernatorial hat by defeating a serving governor in 2003. He pulled an even bigger rabbit out of the Senate Presidential hat in 2015, clinching the post against all odds and against the wishes of the powers that be.
Now he is set to pull the biggest of all rabbits out of the biggest of all hats, the presidential ticket.
His big asset is that he is Bridge Builder of Nigerian politics. He is the political bridge between North and South, Muslim and Christian, State and Federal, Public and Private Sectors, Legislature and Executive, Young and Elderly, Female and Male, Local and Foreign.
This time, he should be Third Time Lucky.
