A Junior Secondary School 2 student of Simple Faith Schools, Agbara, Lagos State, Emmanuel Amidu, has been flooged to death by his teacher.
Amidu died shortly after the corporal punishment, rushed to the hospital where doctors at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Surulere could not safe his life.
The boy’s father, Akinola Amidu, said his 12-year-old son was flogged by a teacher when he went to school on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
Amidu said his son vomited from the beating and died afterwards.
He accused the school management of trying to cover up his son’s death by protecting the mathematics teacher, one Steven, who allegedly flogged Emmanuel for not completing his assignment.
Amidu, 45, has asked that the teacher be arrested and prosecuted just as he urged the state government and the police to give the family justice.
The principal of the school, Adetayo Akanji, said the incident was unfortunate.
