A police officer, Martin Mbang, has lost his life and another injured in a violence that trailed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s House of Representatives primary in Obudu, Cross River State.
The State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Irene Ugbo, who confirmed the development to newsmen said eight suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.
She said the policemen were shot at the Handmaid’s International Nursery and Primary School along the hospital road while the primary for the Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra Federal Constituency was ongoing.
He said the incident disrupted the exercise.
