Oyo Hausa/Yoruba clash: Crisis persists despite curfew
The clash between Hausa and Yoruba traders at Shasha market in Ibadan Oyo state have continued unabated despite closure of the market and curfew imposed by the state government.
The market was thrown into crisis on Friday following the death of a Yoruba pregnant woman who died at a hospital after a fight with a Hausa trader, leading to the death of five people.
The state government on Saturday announced the closure of the market and imposed 12 hours curfew in the area.
Reports said that despite the presence of security agencies in the area, the youths still engaged in a fight for all.
Although the number of the latest casualty is yet unknown, one of the two tribes accused security agencies of taking sides.
