Dr. Matthew Dore, a recognized Nigerian conservationist has emphasized the need for a sustainable advocacy among stakeholders in preserving biodiversity in the country.
Dr. Dore stated this at the presentation of his book entitled, “Biodiversity of Lagos” to the public in Lagos.
He reiterated the need for proper documentation and interpretation of existing biodiversity in Nigeria, and the need to showcase them to the discerning public.
He also said there is need to include biodiversity/conservation history in schools’ curriculum for posterity to have a sense of their history.
The forum attracted Nigerian economist, Mr. Bismarck Rewane, former Head of Service of the Federation, Prof. Oladapo Afolabi, the Managing Partners, Mangrove & Partners Limited, Timeyin Uwejamomere, Technical Director, Nigerian Conservation Foundation, Dr. Joseph Onoja, traditional leaders, friends and families.
