Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, says he is not anyway intimidated by the caliber of persons eyeing the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s presidential ticket ahead of the 2023 election.
Bello picked his nomination and expression of interest forms at the party’s secretariat on Wednesday.
Responding to a question as to whether he is disturbed by the speculation that former President Goodluck Jonathan may join the race on the APC platform, Bello said he is not.
The Kogi State governor said like other presidential hopefuls, he has the women, youths and people with special needs behind him.
He said, “ In democracy, anybody can push for, vie for or support anyone. But I am assuring you that our great party is a party that has its ethics, rules and regulations, and I know surely that all these are in my favour and I am not in any way scared or deterred by the pedigree of anybody whatsoever.
“I am confident because I am in the majority. I have the women, youths, people with special needs; I have leaders, I have followers, I have Nigerians, and I have God almighty behind me.”
