The Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) Continuing Education Centre (CEC) is to establish five study centres in Katsina state.
The Public Relations Officer of the university, Habibu Aminu Umar disclosed this in a statement released on Wednesday.
The statement said the centers are expected to boost the university’s outreach and provide an avenue for many to have access to university education as well as boost teaching and learning in the state.
Umar said the centres would be located at Malumfashi, Charanchi, Funtua, Daura and Katsina Local Government Areas.
He said the Katsina State Government has, through a letter to the CEC Director, approved the establishment of these centres has been approved by the Katsina state government in a letter received by the university CEC Director.
In the letter conveying the approval signed by the state Director, Senior Secondary Schools, Yau Jibrin said the state commissioner of Education has approved the setting up of the centres with high regards.
The University Vice Chancellor Prof. Armayau Hamisu Bichi has welcomed the development which he said was in line with his aspiration and determination to create more frontiers of the university within and outside the state.
Professor Bichi expressed appreciation to the government for granting the approval and assured that the centres will provide access to quality education to the teeming populace of the state as well as bring tertiary education closer to people.
