The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) on Tuesday suspended the Abuja – Kaduna train services hours after the train was attacked by terrorists.
The NRC disclosed this in a statement via its Twitter handle, @Official_NRC, on Tuesday.
“Dear passengers, due to unforeseen circumstances, Train operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route has been temporarily suspended. Further Communication would be given in due course,” the statement read.
Scores were killed and many others wounded in the attack which took place between Dutse and Kakau, some kilometers to Rigasa Station railway in Kaduna state.
Meanwhile, two services chiefs the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Farouk Yahaya have gone to inspect the scene of Monday night’s explosion which derailed a train along the Abuja- Kaduna corridor.
They would meet with Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, at Rijana from where they will proceed to the scene of the attack.
