A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, has sacked the Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, over his defection to All Progressives Congress (APC).
Umahi defected to the ruling APC in November 2020.
Also sacked by the court are the Deputy Governor, Eric Igwe and Speaker of the House of Assembly, Francis Nwifuru.
The presiding judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo, in a judgement on the matter on Tuesday, held that their defection was unconstitutional.
The judge ordered all the lawmakers who defected to vacate their seats.
He also ordered that all salaries and allowances paid to the affected persons within the period should be forfeited to the government coffers.
