A 28-year-old man, identified as Chukwuemeka Obijofa of Ofufe Nza village in Anambra State, says he killed his wife and son with a shovel after an overdose of indian hemp.
He said this when he was paraded alongside other suspects by the Anambra State Police Command.
He said his wife was talking with two unknown men when he came back home to give her some money, as he didn’t leave some money behind when he was going out in the morning.
“I became so angry and pained because I loved and trusted her. She tried to explain to me, but I went somewhere to take my Indian hemp to calm myself down,” he said.
“But after taking some overdose, surprisingly, I found out that I became worse and lost my senses and control,” he said.
Obijofa said he became aware of his misdeed when he regained his senses at the police station.
“I believed that what killed my wife and son was the demon inside me and not me. I felt totally lost and I wished that situation could be reversed in my life. I want to go back to my God, if I have the second chance,” he said.
