The House of Representatives on Tuesday voted against the provision of special seats for women during voting on 68 clauses being considered in the ongoing constitutional amendment.
First Lady Aisha Buhari last week visited the National Assembly to impress on the lawmakers to make a special case for women.
However, 208 members voted against the provision of special seats for women
The lawmakers also rejected the movement of Value Added Tax (VAT) to the exclusive legislative list.
