Sixteen political parties are to participate in the Ekiti governorship election slated for June 18, 2022, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has said.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ekiti State, Dr Tella Adeniran, who confirmed this to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti said the election would take place across the 16 local government areas and 177 wards.
He said the commission has already had interface with the civil society groups and other stakeholders and would constantly brief them as situation unfolded.
He also said massive enlightenment and sensitisation of voters and citizens are ongoing ahead of the election.
