Former Governor of Borno State and Chairman of the morning session of the 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE Roundtable, Senator Kashim Shettima has said insecurity is the most difficult issue that confronts Nigeria.
Shettima, who was governor of Borno State for eight years from 2007 to 2019, added that no part of the country is devoid of security challenges.
Shettima said, “We have a first hand experience of the destruction associated with Noko Haram and Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP): loss of lives, the wilful and unconscionable destruction of infrastructure, the immiseration of people who are already living overturning of communities and the deliberate imposition of the most heart wrenching forms of violence on young women, forcible recruitment of youngmen and their drugging to be able to commit crimes.”
