A woman, identified as Omoyemi Opeyemi, was arrested for allegedly inflicting injuries on a boy, Joel Sunday for allegedly stealing meat from the pot of soup.
A viral video of the nine-year-old boy was seen crying with marks on his body which indicated that his body was cut with a razor blade while bloodstains marred his body.
The incident happened on Sunday at Adebowale Area of Akure, the Ondo State capital, it was learned.
Spokesperson of the state police command, Funmilayo Odunlami, said the suspect “would be made to face the full wrath of the law”.
She said the suspect had been arraigned in court by the police on Monday while the trial is ongoing at the magistrate court, Ondo Road, Akure.
