Gunmen have beheaded a 65-year-old man, identified as Nnoruoka Onyeokwu, in Ubudom Atta community in the Njaba Local Government Area of Imo state.
The assailants displayed the head of the deceased at a primary school in the community.
This is coming barely a month after the traditional ruler of the community, Edwin Azike, was kidnapped and his corpse dumped at the market square the next day.
The latest incident, which happened on Saturday, had caused panic in the community.
A source in the community said the victim was attacked in his house in the night and the villagers woke up the next day to see his severed head dangling at the premises of the primary school in the village.
There is no official statement from the Imo police command over the murder.
