Members of the Olubadan-in-Council have endorsed the nomination of Lekan Balogun as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland.
They announced the endorsement at a press conference held at Mapo Hall, in Ibadan, the state capital.
However, the Osi Olubadan and former governorof Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja, was absent when the endorsement was done.
The Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Tajudeen Ajibola, who spoke on behalf of the kingmakers said, “The council, which is the kingmakers, has met and resolved that Balogun is next in line and will in line with the tradition ascend the throne of Olubadan.”
Other high chiefs in attendance at the press conference included Balogun Olubadan, Owolabi Olakulehin; Otun Balogun, Eddy Oyewole; Ashipa Olubadan, Tajudeen Ajibola; Osi Balogun, Amidu Ajibade; Ekaarun Olubadan, Lateef Gbadamosi; Ekaarun Balogun, Kola Adegbola; and Ekerin Olubadan Abiodun Kola-Daisi.
