The Police in Adamawa State have arrested a 57-year-old commercial driver for allegedly stabbing his 40-year-old wife to death at Lande B Village in Gombi local government area of the state.
The police said in a statement by its spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, that the man, Muhammed Alfa, stabled the wife, Hamsatu Muhammad with a knife on the neck on the New Year day, over a little disagreement.
The statement said the wife had earlier separated from the man and relocated to a different house, but “in an effort to fix her new room, she removed a zinc door of her former house to fix on her new apartment. Angered by her action, the suspect stabbed his wife and mother of eight children.”
It said the woman fell unconscious as a result of a knife wound in her neck and was rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead.
“The suspect was apprehended by the police in Gombi Divisional headquarters, following a report received from Jauro Babangida Boka, the Village Head, Lande,” the statement said.
