The National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) has released the results of the Senior Arabic and Islamic Secondary School Certificate Examination (SAISSCE) of June/July, 2021.
The Registrar of NBAIS, Prof. Muhammad Abdullahi, disclosed this during the official presentation and release of the results at the Board’s Headquarters in Kaduna.
The Registrar said 24 states and the Federal Capital took part in the examinations from October 11 to November 5, 2021.
He noted that a total of 39,369 candidates sat for the examination and 78 per cent had pass in four core courses of the NBAIS, which are Arabic, Islamic studies, English and Mathematics.
He added that other subjects that were sat for, included civic education, Qur’anic studies, French, history, computer studies, literature in English, government, geography, health education, agricultural science, economics, home management, further mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics.
He urged institutions which do not recognise the NBAIS results to do so, noting that it has since been signed as a law and must be recognised by every institution to continue building on progress in the educational sector.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that zone ‘1’ candidates comprising Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna, and Plateau states had the highest candidates who sat for the examination, totaling 22,424 while zone ‘6’, comprising Oyo, Osun, Ogun, and Lagos states had the lowest candidates totaling 604.
