President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, presided over a security meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
On Wednesday, the president was in Maiduguri, Borno state capital for a one-day visit.
Minutes before the president’s aircraft landed, Boko Haram fired rockets around the Maiduguri airport, killing children and injuring others.
The meeting, it was learnt, revolved around the rising bandit attacks and other security concerns.
In the meeting were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha; the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (retd).
Others include Minister of Defense, Major General Salihi Magashi (retd.); Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola; Chief of Defense Staff, General Lucky Irabor; Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo; and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao.
The Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Usman; the Director-General of the Department of State Service, Yusuf Bichi; and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Abubakar, were also in attendance.
