President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday arrived at Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, minutes after Boko Haram rockets attacks.
Boko Haram fighters had earlier fired rockets into the capital of Borno state, hitting at least three communities at Ngomari airport general area.
Buhari was in Maiduguri for a one-day official visit.
His aircraft landed at the Maiduguri Airforce Base at 11:45am.
He was accompanied by top government officials.
Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum was on the ground to receive him alongside all the security service chiefs, who arrived in the city earlier.
This is the second visit by the president to Borno in six months.
He was in Borno June 21, 2021 where he commissioned massive projects undertaken by the Borno State Government and North East Development Commission.
After his arrival, Buhari was driven out of the airport to the site of the Sheikh Tijjani Bolori Mega School.
The state government closed all markets and partially shut all roads within the metropolis because of the presidential visit.
