The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk, says he decided to bestow the traditional title of Talban Daura on Yusuf Buhari, the only son of President Muhammadu Buhari, “to reciprocate the all the good things his father, President Muhammadu Buhari, has done to Daura.”
The emir said this on Thursday when he turbaned four new village heads at his palace in Daura, Kasina State.
The new village heads include Armaya’u Bello, the new Sarkin Gabas Kwasarawa, and the village head of Fatautawa, among others.
The emir said the development will also prevent the new Talba from strolling around Abuja and Yola, his mother’s town, when his father leaves office.
“Even if you don’t like Buhari, you know that Daura of today is different from what it was six years ago. From the University of Transport Technology to Federal Polytechnic, to good roads networks and many other development projects, Daura is today better than some states in the country, development-wise,” the emir said.
“We have many sons in Daura who have excelled, but do not want to be associated with it, so Buhari stands out among them.”
