At least 15 worshippers were killed and dozens others wounded during bandits attack on a mosque in Niger state on Thursday.
The worshippers were performing dawn prayers in Ba’are village, Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State.
This is coming six weeks after bandits gunned down 18 worshippers on October 16, in Mazakuka village mosque in the same local government.
Security sources said those who sustained injuries have been taken to the Kontagora General Hospital for treatment.
The Niger state Commissioner of Police, Monday Bala Kuryas, however, said no fewer than nine people were killed in the Thursday attack.
He said: “Niger state police command has already drafted security personnel to the affected area to further safeguard lives and properties in that community,” he said.
