Two police officers have been killed during an attack by gunmen in Anambra state.
Spokesperson of Anambra Police Command, Ikenga Tochukwu, said in a statement on Sunday that the policemen were traveling with their colleagues when they were ambushed by the gunmen.
The attack came a month after gunmen set ablaze the Ajali divisional police headquarters in Orumba north local government area of the state, injuring some policemen.
Tochukwu said the bodies of the slain officers were burnt by the gunmen, while one officer is still missing.
He said other officers were able to fight their way out of the ambush and rescue two civilian drivers travelling with them.
