Bandits have opened fire on travellers and abducted many along Abuja – Kaduna highway on Sunday.
The assailants struck around 4pm in Rijana, a notorious hub for bandits.
Witnesses said the bandits opened fire sporadically on motorists, forcing many drivers to stop.
Many passengers were herded into the bush by the heavily armed bandits, sources said.
There was no immediate comments from the spokesperson of the Kaduna police command, Muhammed Jalinge.
