A mother, Yemisi Ajayi, was killed three years after the rape and murder of her daughter in Ondo state, the police have confirmed.
The deceased was murdered at her house in the Abusoro area of Ijoka, Akure, Ondo State.
The deceased only child, Oluwaseun Ajila, was raped and killed at their residence in 2018.
The daughter, who was a fashion model, was 20-year-old when she was stabbed to death by unknown assailants.
Ebenezer Adedimola, Ajila’s boyfriend at that time, was arrested in connection with the murder and charged to court.
Ms Ajayi’s body, with multiple stabs on her stomach, was found when a girl came to the house to call her for morning devotion, according to witnesses.
Spokesperson of the state police command, Funmilayo Odunlami, said an investigation was ongoing into the matter.
“The corpse has already been deposited in a mortuary and the police are investigating to unravel the motive behind her killing. We don’t want to reveal what we are doing in order not to jeopardise the investigation,” she said.
