Boko haram fighters on Sunday killed three persons at a checkpoint along Miaduguri-Gubio road.
A top personnel of the Civilian Joint Task Force, Bakura Aliyu, confirmed the incident.
This happened before the new Service Chiefs arrived in Borno state, the epic-centre of the insurgency, to brainstorm with critical stakeholders on ways to bring the insurgency to a quick end.
The aircraft that conveyed the service chief touched down in Maiduguri, Borno state capital, about 1:30pm on Sunday.
Reports say the insurgents attacked a joint checkpoint between Chabol and Magumeri at about 12:30pm, where they killed two policemen and personnel of the Civilian Joint Task Force. It was said that the insurgents burnt one military utility vehicle, one other and carted away with some ammunition, after they replaced the soldiers at the checkpoint.
