Peoples Democratic Party in Anambra State has been urged not to field a candidate who didn’t work for the party in the forthcoming elections.
A member of House of Representatives and PDP governorship aspirant in the state, Chris Azubogu, expressed this at a stakeholders meeting while presenting himself to the party executive committee in Awka.
Nwobu said the PDP has not been in government in the state for the past 16 years, adding that this has put it at a disadvantage in the contest for governorship election in the state.
He said with the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA in the state, and All Progressives Congress APC at the federal level, “it is important that PDP should give its ticket to someone who is fully on ground and has been in governance at various levels to be able to sell the party properly to the electorate.”
