Six people have died and seven others injured when a petrol tanker exploded in Mubi, Adamawa State.
A source told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that the victims were burnt beyond recognition in the explosion that occurred around 2am on Wednesday at a filling station along Gela-Cameroun border town.
The Gela-Cameroun area is a nerve centre in the state where smuggling activities are on the increase despite the presence of security operatives.
The source said many hectares of farmlands were also destroyed by the fire from the tanker.
He said the corpses of the victims have been deposited at a General Hospital in Mubi, while seven others who sustained various degrees of burns were still receiving treatment at the same hospital.
