The National Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP has ratified the recommendations of its zoning committee.
The committee headed by the Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi had recommended that the chairmanship position should go to the North.
It, however, said no decision had been taken on where the presidency should be zoned to.
The report of the zoning committee was made public last week.
Addressing journalists at the end of the 94th NEC meeting in Abuja, the national publicity secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the Ugwuanyi committee’s proposal has been ratified.
He said NEC agreed that further discussions and decision on the zoning of presidential ticket should be left till another date.
He said NEC also agreed that the October 30 convention date was intact.
