Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has confirmed the arrest of four persons for ballot snatching during the Wednesday local governments election in the state.
He said the offenders who were members of the opposition political parties were arrested in Wamba local government area.
He, however, did not disclose the names of the parties involved.
In a statement by his media, Ali Abare, Governor Sule said the
suspects have since been handed over to the police in Lafia, for
proper investigation.
He blamed the late commencement of voting on logistics challenges.
The governor who voted at his Gudi Motor Park 002 polling unit, Gudi,
his country home, in Akwanga Local Government Area, however, assured
the people that the election will be conducted transparently and with
the fear of God.
“We want to apologize to the people that come out to vote, because if
there are delays, it affects them morally,” the governor was quoted as
saying.
