Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN – a military operation against banditry and other criminality in North Central zone – Maj-General Ibrahim Ali, has tasked political and religious leaders in the Southern part of Kaduna State to come up with workable frameworks that will bring about lasting peace in the area.
The commander said this during a strategic engagement with critical stakeholders from the area on Tuesday.
In a statement by the spokesperson of the Operation, Major Ishaku Takwa, on Wednesday, the commander said no meaningful development would take place without peace and security, hence urged all stakeholders to propagate peace to enable socio-economic activities to thrive in the area.
“You must live together as brothers and sisters and work together to fight the common enemies of the society,” the statement quoted General
Ali as having said.
It said the commander also urged traditional rulers to educate their subjects on the importance of peace, adding that OPSH will continually discharge its constitutional responsibility with the utmost respect for the sensitivity of the local environment.
