Naomi Osaka has dropped out of the women’s top 10 for the first time since winning the 2018 US Open title.
She is now 12th on the women’s top ranking.
The 23-year-old Japanese player withdrew from this year’s French Open and missed Wimbledon to focus on her mental health.
She also took a break from tennis after she was beaten in the 3rd round of the US Open title by Leylah Fernandez in September.
Osaka, a former world number one, promised to return stronger after getting the “itch” to play again.
