A week after it staged large pro-One Nigeria rallies in New York City during the 2021 UN General Assembly meeting which President Muhammadu Buhari attended, One Nigeria Group staged more rallies in the American capital, Washington, DC on Friday October 1, Nigeria’s Independence Day.
The group delivered a letter to Nigeria’s Ambassador to the USA in which it “condemned the activities of various dissident groups spreading anti-Nigeria messages both within Nigeria and around the world, including false narratives and hatred. Particularly, we condemn heir violent acts and resort to fear mongering and hate speech in a bid to demonise the government of Nigeria.”
The group said it will stage more pro-Nigeria rallies in various countries in order to counter the activities of dissident groups. While receiving the group, Nigeria’s Ambassador to USA Dr. Uzoma Emenike expressed delight at the group’s rally, which she described as a “remarkable and selfless action towards moving Nigeria forward.” She said it will go down on record as an important phase in the country’s development.”
